It is award season.  Sunday night was the Golden Globes and soon there will be the Screen Actor Guild Awards and then the Oscars.  Every award season brings with it amazing fashions and memorable speeches from the winners that share some great words of wisdom.  (Remember this great statement by Tiffany Haddish about visualizing your success)

 

This season is just starting and it has not disappointed.  Sunday night during the Golden Globe awards actress Glen Close delivered a powerful speech about how for years, as nurturers, women did not believe they were not allowed to follow their dreams.  (See an excerpt of her speech here)

 

Her words are reminiscent of what I hear so many of my coaching clients say when we are talking about their goals.  “I can’t do that now because I have small kids” or “I can’t do that because my family needs me”.

You should not be putting your dreams on hold to help someone else’s dreams come true.

 

You are allowed to follow your dreams.  So make 2019 your year to make your dreams a reality.
